The Young family, owners of Sandyland Farms in Howard City are proud of their long history of farming in Michigan’s fertile soils. It all began with 80 acres of potatoes, corn, beans, and dairy in Montcalm County. From those humble roots, Sandyland Farms has grown into an operation that manages thousands of acres across several counties. Their commitment to providing the perfect chipping potato is the reason they can be found in chips bags all over the world. Today the farm is still family-owned and run with the family’s passion and commitment to the values and ideals that have guided them for generations.
Sandyland Farms is certified by the USDA’s program for Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP). As part of this voluntary certification, the farm is audited annually.
