Planning underway for 2017 Potato Field Days

Mark your calendar now for the series of three potato field days across Michigan. Each field day will provide insight into new varieties and include speakers on relevant topics of interest to Michigan potato growers.

The Montcalm Field Day kicks off series the on August 3, 2017 with the day’s activities scheduled to include the issue identification meeting of the Michigan Potato Industry Commission’s Research Committee, lunch with various industry and research based exhibits, followed by a series of research and demonstration discussions centered on fresh and chip processing growers.

The Presque Isle Field Day is the next in the series on August 29, 2017 in the Roger’s City/Posen Details for the day are still coming together for this event. The field discussion and focus for the day will be on fresh market varieties including russet, white, red and yellow varieties. A meal will be provided in conjunction with the event.

The Upper Peninsula Field Day will conclude the series on August 30, 2017 in Cornell with discussion related to the demonstration plot that includes fresh market varieties. Dinner will be provided in conjunction with the event.
